Austin Healey 3000 MKII ‘BT7’ 1962
“The bigger the Healey the better!”
Thirty years ago, when Marreyt Classic cars had just been founded, Austin-Healeys were often seen guests in our showroom and workshop. In the first years, we have bought, disassembled, restored, reassembled and sold several dozens of these charming British sports cars. But the classic car world has so many interesting things to offer. Over the years, prewar British cars, postwar Alfa’s, Otto Vu’s, Etceterini and other marvelous classics made us lose track of these sporty little Austin-Healey’s... until today!
They say one always returns to their first love, and this is exactly what we thought when we saw this sparkling Big Healey MKII ‘BT7’.
This particular Healey was build new in March 1962 and delivered to Montreal, Canada.
Finished in ‘Colorado red’ over a red interior and equipped with whire wheels, an adjustment steering column, laminated windscreen,… On top of that, the car was fitted with the factory overdrive on 3rd and 4th gears.
The car was part of ‘The Elkhart collection’ in Chicago, featuring over 240 highly collectable cars. It was under sir Najeeb Khan, owner of the collection, that the car has been restored to the current color combination of ‘Old English White’ in combination with a blue interior. With limited and very careful use ever since…
the sporty 'bark' and amazing torque of the 3L six cylinder engine, make this Austin Healey an exhilarating sportscar to enjoy.
We have already fallen in love with this Healey. If the 3000 MKII was also your first love, then this ‘BT7’ is the one you're looking for!
